Soil Concepts Inc. is hiring an experienced Foreman to lead our erosion control crews across Eastern Iowa. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing jobsite setup, crew management, equipment operation, and daily project execution. The ideal candidate is a dependable leader with a strong work ethic, field experience, and the ability to keep jobs running on time and on spec.
- Lead 2–6 crew members on erosion control projects
- Interpret and execute project plans, SWPPP requirements, and client instructions
- Coordinate daily tasks including:
- Hydroseeding
- Straw blowing
- Silt fence installation
- Matting
- Sod Installation
- Operate and manage equipment such as straw blowers, hydroseeders, and tractors
- Load materials, set up equipment, and transport tools to/from jobsites
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and internal team
- Track job progress and report to management
- Ensure safety, quality, and efficiency on every site
- 2+ years experience in construction, landscaping, or erosion control
- Prior crew lead or foreman experience strongly preferred
- Valid driver’s license required (CDL preferred but not required)
- Comfortable operating heavy equipment and trailers
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor outdoors
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to read site plans and SWPPP documentation a plus
- Must be organized, punctual, and professional
- Monday–Friday, report by 6:30 AM to shop in Marion, IA
- Occasional weekend/overtime work based on project deadlines
