Soil Concepts Inc. is looking for an experienced and safety-focused Equipment Operator to join our erosion control team. This position plays a key role in preparing job sites, handling grading and material placement, and supporting SWPPP and seeding operations. If you take pride in precision and know your way around tractors, skid steers, and hydroseeders, we want you on our team.
- Operate machinery such as tractors, skid steers, straw blowers, hydroseeders, and compactors
- Grade, till, and prepare soil to meet project specs
- Load/unload material and equipment
- Assist with silt fence installation, matting, seeding, and SWPPP-related work
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and inspections
- Follow safety protocols and instructions from Foreman and Project Manager
- Maintain clean, organized, and efficient jobsite operations
- 2+ years of equipment operating experience in construction, landscaping, or erosion control
- Proficient with tractors, skid steers, and/or hydroseeders
- Ability to read and follow site plans and project instructions
- Strong attention to detail and safety procedures
- Comfortable with physical labor and working outdoors in varying conditions
- Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus)
- Team-oriented mindset and clear communication skills
- Monday–Friday, report by 6:30 AM to shop in Marion, IA
- Occasional weekends depending on project deadlines
